Zenobia was born in Richmond, Virginia, to Thelma and James Prentiss on December 10, 1942 and came to the end of her journey here, in the school of life, somewhat unexpectedly on March 3, 2020.
She married in 1967, moved to Texas and had a long career as both a realtor and a real estate broker, but her charity work truly fulfilled her because she felt deeply, the pain of her children who were abused and mistreated. She was committed to this endeavor up until the day of her death.
Zenobia Coverson, a realtor and real estate broker for over forty years and the founder of The Forgotten Child Inc. spent the bulk of her adult life doing what she loved best, helping abused and neglected children. She was committed and tended to this work more than anything else. Zenobia, an excellent student, graduated from high school at the age of fifteen and later attended Medical College of Virginia, where she became a registered nurse.
Zenobia is a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and matriarch of the Coverson family. She was predeceased by her mother, Thelma Starks Williams, father, James Prentiss, and brother, Douglas Prentiss. She is survived by her husband of more than 52 years, Norman Coverson; sons, Cornell Jefferson, Anthony Coverson; beloved spiritual daughters, Nadean Johnson, Geraldine Pena and Caridad Marrero. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, sister, Deloris Prentiss Llewellyn; brother, Tyrone Prentiss; nieces, Dawn McKissick, Vonzelle Waller, Angel Prentiss Alston, and nephew, Douglas Prentiss Jr.
