Zella Inez Cunningham, our precious Mother and Grandmother, age 84, was called to her eternal home by her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2016.
Zella was born January 12, 1932 to Alfred Norton Oliver and Celia Boulerjack in Wichita Falls, Texas.
It was at church on Sunday there in Wichita Falls when she met and fell in love with a handsome young airman named Billy Hugh Cunningham. They married on November 13, 1950 and were able to enjoy 64 years together.
Zella worked for Civil Service until she stopped to raise her two children. When they started school she worked for over 20 years as the office manager for Dr. William Block then for many years for Dr. J. Dean McCraken as a medical transcriber.
Zella played the piano for many years at Northeast Baptist Church then sang in the Chapel Choir at First Baptist Church of San Antonio and was a church greater and volunteer at 4 th Street Inn.
She is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Billy Hugh Cunningham and though our hearts are heavy we are overjoyed to know they are now rejoined in Heaven walking the streets of gold.
She is survived by a son, Robert S. Cunningham (Stan) and wife Susan, a daughter Barbara Lansford and husband Mark, granddaughters ,Allison and Kelly Cunningham, Julie and Laura Duve, Robyn Brittan and husband, Terrell, and seven great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 8 at 2:00 pm in the Wilson Chapel of First Baptist Church, San Antonio. Should friends desire, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of San Antonio TV Ministry.
