Xavier went on to be with the Lord January 7, 2016, after living with Parkinson's disease for 22 years. All the while he kept high spirits and fought hard to maintain the daily activities he enjoyed. The Parkinson's community enriched his life with friendship, support and wellness programs. Xavier attended Mount Sacred Heart Military Academy, Central Catholic High School and St. Mary's University. His parents were photographers and owned Sanchez Studio at 419 W. Houston in downtown San Antonio . Xavier was the oldest child and often assisted his parents at the studio, especially during WWII when business was booming in this military town. Xavier served his country in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957, assigned to the Pentagon. He went on to enjoy a career in mortgage banking. He was Mortgage Loan Servicing Manager with Loper Mortgage Company and a few years later with the Richard Gill Company. In 1978 he joined San Antonio Savings Association as Vice President in charge of Mortgage Loan Servicing. After the S&L crisis in the late 1980's Xavier worked five years for the Resolution Trust Corporation as Oversight Manager. He had a quick wit and people were drawn to him for his fun sense of humor. He enjoyed many life long friendships from his younger days in Prospect Hill Subdivision, his Central Catholic High School days and his years in mortgage banking. He had a love of music and sang in the St. Helena 's Catholic Church contemporary choir for nearly 30 years. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and friends. Xavier is preceded in death by his parents Javier and Carolina Sanchez, brother Carlos Sanchez, and former wife Ophelia Oyervides Sanchez. He is survived by his current wife of 40 years Crystal Gill Sanchez, two sons Anthony Sanchez and Brett Meiners, five daughters Janell Torres, Rhonda Meiners, Laura Barreira, Angie Morehead and Mandy Sanchez, their beloved spouses, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sister Carmela Rodriguez, brother Richard Sanchez, and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews.
