William Quintana
March 22, 1951 — July 19, 2009
William Patrick Quintana, SMSgt, USAF - Retired, went to be with our Lord on July 19, 2009 at the age of 58. He was a devoted and loving husband to Delia, proud father to Anthony, Christopher, Michele and Delia Ann and doting grandfather to Hector, Alycia, Elizabeth, Maria, Mariana, Joe Anthony, Martin, Vincent, Nevaeh, David and Yesenia. He was born to Manuel and Emelia Quintana on March 22, 1951 in Leadville, Colorado. His childhood was spent in Colorado with his 8 brothers and 6 sisters. With high ambitions, he joined the Job Corp in 1969 and then went on to join the United States Air Force in 1970. While stationed at Lackland AFB, TX, he found his true love, Delia, and asked her to marry him on January 8, 1971 at the Majestic Theatre. Shortly after his proposal, he went on to serve in Vietnam from March 1971 to March 1972 as a Security Police K-9 Handler with his patrol dog and faithful companion, Mountain. Upon returning from the war, he married Delia on March 25, 1972. He spent 25+ years proudly serving our Country at various duty assignments throughout the United States and overseas and then retired his proud military career at Randolph AFB, TX. While ending one career, he began another working at Randolph AFB in Logistics as a contractor and later as a Civil Service employee. Throughout his life he demonstrated an irreproachable work ethic, integrity and always lived by family and service before self. His sense of humor, strong character, love for life, loyalty to family and dedication to God made him the wonderful person he was. He touched the lives of many; and while he had to leave us too soon, God ensured his mission was complete. Although we will miss him dearly, we celebrate his life and know that he is watching over us from Heaven.
