William Fulton

October 14, 1932 — July 11, 2014

William R Fulton "Bill" made his transition to a new life on July 11, 2014 at the age of 81 years. He was born on October 14, 1932 in Baytown, TX. Bill is preceded in death by his son Wade Clark Fulton and parents Johnnie Lawson Fulton & Gertrude Dickens Fulton. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years Carolyn Sue Fulton; son William Dana Fulton; grandsons Christopher Fulton, Aaron Holley & Levi Fulton; great grandchildren Camryn & Caleb Fulton; sister Janelle Goodall, brothers James E Fulton, Robert "Bob" Fulton & wife Sedonia, Charles L. Fulton & wife Earlene; also numerous nieces and nephews. Bill graduated high school in Baytown, Texas in 1950, attended University of Texas, with a degree in engineering and was a Professional Engineer. He was employed by Symons Corporation most of his career serving as general manager for 15 years. After retiring, Bill started Fulton Engineering. His military service included the Marine reserves and US Army serving in Korea in 1954-55. He was a lifetime NRA member, a member of the Rotary club and Professional Engineering Society member, Bill also served on several Garden Ridge planning and zoning committees. He was a member of the Unity Church of San Antonio serving in many capacities. Bill enjoyed construction work of all kinds, building a cabin on acreage in Lockhart, Texas which his family enjoyed for many years. Bill loved wood working as a hobby. He lived his life with one of his favorite sayings "Character Has Staying Power". Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 8:30 to 9:30am with a funeral service to be conducted at 9:30am at the Schertz Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hope Hospice 611 N. Walnut Ave, New Braunfels, Texas 78130 or Wounded Warriors Project or charity of your choice.
