William Reid Case (Bill), age 83, of Schertz, Tx went to his "forever home" with our Heavenly Father on March 6, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at home. Bill was born July 25, 1940 in Syracuse, New York. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, always putting God, Country and family first and foremost. He was known by all as a kind hearted, faithful servant of the Lord, who took responsibility seriously, he laughed easily while being hilarious and witty himself and an extremely hard working man of God. Always putting others before himself. Bill was so proud of his family always praying for each one of them and advising them whenever he was asked forever staying strong and never faltering. Bill prided himself in his military career enlisting in the United States Army at the age of 17. He did two tours in Vietnam, he was injured April 1, 1966 and was told he would never walk again but, God had another plan. With lots of rehabilitation and a moto he held dear PBC (pain builds character) and following God's plan he went to college, seminary and two masters degrees. While attending college he met and married his wife, Frances Ann and they were married for 53 years. After college he re-enlisted in the Army as Chaplain in December 1973. He retired May of 1989 at Fort Hood, Tx as Combat Aviation Brigade Chaplain. After retirement he moved to Houston and worked in the Navy recruiting office for ten years. He also taught adult senior class at Bear Creek Church in Katy, Tx. His passion was teaching and counseling others sharing his wisdom of life and the Lord. He and his wife raised two sons, Dwayne Eric who followed his fathers path serving 27 years in the Army, retired Sergeant Special Forces Combat Medic, Darrel Alan a devoted father himself spent many of Bill's final years taking care of him making sure he had everything he needed and being a great comfort to him. Ann was his best friend, life partner and one true love, she spent every waking hour caring and being there for him in every way possible never wavering as they always told each other "Forever and Always". He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and all who he knew and is finally at rest in the arms of his Savior. Those left to cherish his memories include his loving faithful wite Frances Ann, his son Darrel and wife courtney his grandchildren, Austin, Natasia, Isaiah, Trisha, Pantera, Justus, Xavier, Gabriel, William, and Jalyn, and two great grandsons Carter and Elias. He is preceded in death by his son Dwayne Eric. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Wounded Warrior Project as Bill would have wanted his fellow veterans taken care of as much as possible.
