Wendell R. Brimager Jr., (Bub) 73, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023. He was born on August 12, 1950 to Ava Morgan and Wendell Brimager Sr. He was born and raised in Texas by his precious mother and his lifelong stepfather Howard. Wendell was a proud US Marine and followed up his civic duty working as a purchasing agent in the steel and mechanical industry, before transitioning into full-time grandad in 2010. He had a passion for the outdoors, hunting and fishing all over the United States, which was always his happy place. He loved nothing more than to share that passion with his son and grandsons. The memories are priceless. Wendell also enjoyed football, baseball, golf, travel, and softball, and began bowling in the 80’s. After many championships, he joined the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) and enjoyed traveling all over the nation bowling in professional tournaments. Bowling was another activity that he loved sharing with his son and grandsons; but of course, grandad always won!He met his wife, Lois, at Sam Houston High School in Arlington and they shared 53 wonderful years together with God blessing them with a loving son who wed an amazing lady, who became his daughter (Kelli). He wore many titles during his life: son, brother, husband, dad, friend, and coach but his favorite was being a grandad. It was a very special meaning to him to get to influence and teach his grandsons about living a good Christian life. He also was the first one they called if they had a problem - mechanical, household, didn't matter. They knew he could fix it. They were always amazed at how much he knew and how many things he could do. He made it a priority to attend every activity they were involved in, and there were many. He was one proud grandad. Wendell had such a big heart that he had a number of what we call "his adopted sons" and "adopted grandkids" who he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather Howard. He is survived by his wife, Lois, his son David (Kelli), grandsons Tyler and Davis, sisters Cassandra Summers (Terry), Annette Griffin (Terry), brothers Gary Brimager (Joanie), and Alan Paschal (Chris), countless cousins, nieces and nephews. Wendell was always soft-hearted when it came to little children who were suffering, so in lieu of flowers, a donation to a children's charity of your choice would make him smile.A Memorial Service for Wendell will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM, with a Visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
