Vivian White

May 8, 1917 — August 3, 2014

Vivian Elaine White was born May 8, 1917. She passed from this life on August 3, 2014 at the age of 97. Known as Elaine to some and Mama to everybody she kept busy all her life. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cared for them during their early years while their moms and dads worked. She was careful not to spoil them - only taking them to the Dollar Store or Arby's every day after school. She cooked Sunday dinner every Sunday and there were always no less than 12 people around her table. Usually there were 2 or 3 more depending on who was in town and showed up at Worship Services. She loved to travel. She has seen most of this United States including Alaska. Frances took her to Germany to visit Bill while he was stationed there. They did a 1 year tour in Saudi Arabia and visited Pakistan during that time. Schertz, Texas was home though. Elaine was a member of the Schertz Church of Christ. She was the wife of one of the Elders who had a vision for growth in the Randolph area. Leaving Schertz the congregation moved to Pat Booker Rd in Universal City, TX where the church continued to grow. It was their hope that they would grow enough to start another congregation back in Schertz. Elaine did see that happen and she served the Lord in many capacities. She loved entertaining and did so frequently. Many will remember the homemade ice cream parties in their back yard and Sunday lunches. "I'm Mama" she would say to those who were special to her. As she waits in Abraham's bosom for Judgment Day she has probably told him "I'm Mama." Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Frances White, her parents, Leona and Hollis Beene, 4 sisters, Chubby Buie, Jimmie Rush, Irene Hahn, Novell Cornelius and 1 brother, Thomas Beene. She is survived by her son, Bill White, daughter, Margaret Heinesh and her husband Jack, 2 granddaughters, Kathy Robeck and her husband Darren, Susan Pulaski and her husband Steve, 5 great-grandchildren, Nathan Robeck and his wife Kelli, Shelbie Robeck, Kaylyn Pulaski and Krystal Pulaski. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Francis Brown, Vera Mae Johnson and Peggy Hunsucker and 1 brother, Buddy Beene along with numerous nieces and nephews. With Margaret's marriage to Jack she acquired a blended family which include 3 more grandchildren, Jack Heinesh, Annmarie Hext, and Amy Eiden, 8 more great-grandchildren, Colten Heinesh and his wife Laura, Logan Heinesh, Rebecca and Tyler Hext, Matt, Garrett and Stacey Eiden. Her great-great-grandson, Donovan Heinesh was born on her birthday this year. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, from 5:00PM-9:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. The Graveside Service will be on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, 12:00PM, at Sunset Memorial Park.
