Victoria Garcia

Victoria S. Garcia, born on March 6, 1929, in Pandora, Texas, passed away peacefully at Gentiva Hospice on October 26, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas. Victoria worked in the nursing field for most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Samaniego; parents, Santiago and Manuela Solis; sister, Josephina Saenz; and brother, Ruben Solis. She is survived by her daughters, Juanita Castillo and husband Atilano Jr., Luisa Samaniego, Rebecca Eckelberger and husband Gerald; grandchildren, Amy Castillo Dellinger and husband Dan, Victoria Samaniego Casarez and husband Frank, and Jessica Eckelberger Perez and husband Paul; greatgrandchildren, Christopher and Cy Dellinger, Ciera, Samantha and Koby Casarez, and Rhyli Eckelberger; brothers, Juan and Santiago Solis; sisters, Anita Alonzo and Elena Solis Saenz; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who are all loved deeply. Pallbearers for Mrs. Garica will be her grandson- in laws, Dan Dellinger, Frank Casarez, and Paul Perez; and second cousins, Victor Pena, Joe Frank Pena, and Isaac Pena. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 11:00AM at the Schertz Funeral Home with Chaplain Anthony Deosdade Officiating. Interment to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
