Vernell Fey

Vernell Leora Fey, born on December 11, 1930, passed away on January 2, 2019, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Fey, her parents, Monroe and Alwine Hillert. Vernell is survived by her children, Gordon Fey & his wife, LeAnne, Glenn Fey & his wife, Darlene, Grace Strain and her husband, Jerry and Gail Deeley; grandchildren, Tammy Miller and her husband, Mark, Mindy Kollatschny and her husband, Jason, Stacie Granata and her husband, Mike, Heather Mazoch and her husband, Mitchell, Courtney Ellis and her husband, Jonathan, Charles Lampkin (step), Tamara Smith and her husband, Thomas, Melissa Mendenhall and her husband, Wade and Jarred Deeley; great-grandchildren, Zhanna and Nadia Miller, Hannah and Ashton Kollatschny, Kason and Keagan Mazoch Conner and Parker Ellis and Braden and Kaylee Mendenhall. Gilbert and Vernell were married on October 18, 1949 and were married for almost 62 years. She loved gardening, dancing with her husband, bowling and bunco with Faithful Friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Schertz Funeral Home, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 16075 N. Evans Road, Selma, Texas 78154 at 12:30 PM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
