Ulysses Grant, Sr.
May 19, 1920 — July 9, 2015
Ulysses S. Grant Sr., born on May 19, 1920, passed away on July 9, 2015, at the age of 95. Ulysses served in the U.S Army as a Spec 4 and a World War II Veteran. He worked in Civil Service for 45 years and was assigned to Okinawa Japan, Morocco North Africa, and Lajes field, Azores Portugal. In 1986 Ulysses retired as a Civil Engineer with a grade of GS-13. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and telling jokes. Ulysses settled in Cibolo, TX where he lived the remainder of his life. Ulysses is preceded in death by his wife, Magda B. Grant; father, Duffie Grant; mother, Lenorah P. Grant; brothers, Earl Grant, TC grant, Duffie Grant; sisters, Alma Dixon and Gertrude Grant. He is survived by his son, Ulysses S. Grant Jr., with wife Celia of Fort worth, TX; daughter, Marilia M. White with husband Scott of Grapevine, TX; grandchildren, Sienna Grant, Olivia Grant of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Delores Stewart with husband Johnny Stewart. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. The Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors, at 11:15AM. The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
