??Toni Elizabeth Miller "Betty" devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother "Betty" went home to be with the Lord and her husband John Miller of almost 60 years. Born in Philadelphia PA, she was preceded in death by her parents, William R. and Jane F. Withers and brother, Bobby Withers. Toni "Betty" Miller is survived by her sister Jane Evan Withers; daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" A. Hilsdorf and husband Edward G. Jr; sons, Michael "Mike" Miller and significant other Patricia A. Canales, John O. Miller and wife Lora J. Miller; grandchildren, Tera E. Page, Jerry J. Page, Andrea J. Maddox, Mary E. Gray, Michelle Jones, Melissa N. Miller-Garza, Melanie R. Miller, Elizabeth M. Miller, Bryce W. Miller, Ryan J. Miller; great-grandchildren, Jadon Garza, Makenna Garza, Camden Miller, Emma Page, Beau Page, Chandler Gray, Trinity Jones, Tyler Maddox, Julian Cousins, Gavin Gray, Caleb Butterworth, Thatcher Jones, Timothy Butterworth, Jensen Jones and Christopher Wedding.Always an active member in her local community, she loved piano, tennis, horseback riding, ice-skating, ballroom dancing and sports. While attending both Florida Southern College and University of Florida majoring in Home Economics with a minor in Science she also participated in the local Presbyterian Church Choir. She enjoyed being a member of Alpha Pi Alpha Sorority where she held many offices. After meeting the love of her life, John and Betty enjoyed the Air Force life traveling around the world and as an Air Force wife, Betty participated in the Airmen's Wives Club and the Non-Commissioned Officers Wives Club holding several offices such as Vice President, Publicity Social Speaker and Membership Chairman. She learned how to create "Lapidary art Punch Pictures, Padded pictures and oriental cooking while stationed in Japan. Betty loved being a mother and was very active in her children's lives as Troop Leader, Den Mother and always led by example while holding several offices within the Cub Scouts of Texas. After her kids were grown, Betty pursued some of her passions, selling Tupperware, working as an insurance agent for Dairyland Insurance Company, as a Notary in the state of Texas and she loved her time as a writer working at the Weekly Herald newspaper in Universal City, Texas. In the 70's, John and Betty owned and operated "BJ's CB shop and "5 Points" TV store in Schertz and Universal City, Texas and enjoyed being ham operators. She also worked in Civil Service at Randolph AFB and Kelly AFB in San Antonio, Texas, where she worked in the hospital clinic and the Office of Manpower. Some of Betty's favorite things were her family, strawberry jam, cashews, dogs, birds, enjoying the four seasons. She enjoyed many kinds of music, especially country music, LOVED NASCAR races, the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos. Betty took and collected pictures of her family and all the places she visited. She also spent many years working on her family geology. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. A Graveside Service will be on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 1:45PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
