Thomas Taylor

In memory of Thomas Lee Taylor MSGT (Ret.) USAF Thomas was born 17th September, 1936 and passed away peacefully on April 26, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Lee (Buck) and Elizabeth Odom Taylor. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara and four devoted children; Thomas Lee Taylor, Jr. and wife Kim, Michael Joseph Taylor and wife Sylvia, Robert Hayes Taylor and wife Debbie, and Anne Elizabeth Peace and husband Larry. He is blessed to have twenty one grand and great grandchildren, each of whom gave him great pride and pleasure. Thomas was born in Tyler, TX, and after a childhood filled with wonderful flying experiences with his father, he moved to Dallas where he met Barbara. Dallas is where the two would Wed on August 2nd, 1957 at the St. Monica's Catholic Church. He served his country with pride and honor in the US Air Force for 22 years, where he had the opportunity to see the world. Thomas had assignments in Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and numerous southern bases, before returning to his Texas roots, where he would spend his last 7 years of active duty at Randolph Air Force Base. His second career was with Lear Siegler until retirement in 2001. After his second retirement he then amassed a remarkable collection of racing and aviation memorabilia, fishing lures and tools, and was also a lifelong fan of the Fighting Texas Aggies. Tom was baptized into the catholic faith at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dallas, TX. He has served his faith in many capacities including, the Parish Council, Eucharistic Minister, Perpetual Adoration, Minister to the sick and homebound, and was also a Lector, more recently he would work with his friends on the grounds keeping crew at the Hangar Door, where they would all share their war stories. Tom touched many lives and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 11:00am, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Schertz, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd building fund, Schertz EMS, or a charity of your choice.
