Thomas Potts

August 7, 1945 — March 22, 2016

Thomas James Potts was born in Newfoundland on August 7, 1945 to Chief Warrant Officer James R. Potts and Mrs. Rose Potts.

Thomas was more affectionately known as Uncle Tom to his family and friends. Tom had many hobbies including fishing, camping, cars and auto mechanics. Tom loved to go fishing; some of his nephews and great-nephews best memories were made on those fishing trips. He also enjoyed working on and collecting classic cars, and was quite versed as an auto mechanic. If you had car trouble you could always call Uncle Tom to help diagnose and fix the problem. He also liked to go to attend classic car shows, and frequent car museums as well.

Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He liked helping people, whether it was with your car, lawnmower, remodeling your house, he was ready to help on a moment's notice. He was also a very generous man, who would give you the last dollar out of his wallet in order to help someone out. Tom got satisfaction out of helping others.

Tom was preceded in death by his father James R. Potts and mother Rose M. Potts. He was also preceded in death by his niece, Kimberly A. Potts. He is survived by his brother Robert W. Potts Sr. and his wife Sharon S. Potts, his brother William Potts, his nephew Robert W. Potts Jr. and his wife Wendi-and their children Sarah Potts, Lucas Potts, and Lucas' wife Megan Potts-and his great-nephew Donavon Potts.

Tom will be missed by his family and friends. I am sure he is getting the boat ready for the next trip.

The Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Holy Cross Mausoleum Chapel, in San Antonio, Texas.
