Thomas Doskal

December 6, 1945 — March 18, 2014

Thomas (Tom) A. Doskal, beloved husband, father and grandpa passed away peacefully on March 18, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents Anthony Joseph and Fern Marie Doskal of St. Louis, MO. He is survived by loving wife, Irma; sister, Barbara Bloomfield and husband Bob; daughters, Darese Doskal, Angela Corbett and husband Jim, Kaycee Moreira and husband Javier; step son, Jesse Marroquin and wife Heeyoung; step daughters, Paula Krupp and Diane Perry; grandchildren, Alex, Hannah, and Kirstyn; and step grandchildren, Dustin and Alexis. He grew up in St. Louis, MO. Loved his MIZZOU! He served in the US Navy as a young man and moved to Texas in 1994. He enjoyed traveling with Irma. They often drove cross-country to visit families while discovering new tasty joints along the way. He loved to cook and entertain! Singing was another passion of his, and he could often be found crooning the lucky few at the VFW. He just loved life to the fullest, until his brave fight with cancer ended suddenly. He will be greatly missed by his family near and far, and will always be remembered as the most tender hearted, kind, gentle, yet solid as a rock family man that everyone could always count on. He will live in our hearts forever! Family will be receiving friends at Schertz Funeral Home on April 2, 2014 at 9:30am. He will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a gift to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Texas will be appreciated. Donation envelopes and drop box will be at the service for your convenience.
