Thelma Cook

April 20, 1932 — May 26, 2020

Thelma Lee Woods Cook, our loving mother and grandmother, born April 20, 1932, in Yorktown, TX, went to be with her Savior on May 26, 2020 at the age of 88. Lee was a resident of Garden Ridge, TX, and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Schertz for almost 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert J. Cook. Also preceding her in death were her parents Henry Emmitt (H.E.) Woods and Loma DuBose Woods and her sister Irene Rush.

She is survived by her daughters; Brenda Walters and husband Bobby (Midland, TX), Cindy Dickenson and husband Kirk (Colorado Springs, CO), and son Glenn Cook and wife Jill (Adkins, TX). Surviving her are siblings Ruby Cole (Denny) of College Station, TX and Henry Woods of Victoria, TX. Lee is survived by her grandchildren, Kelley Hefner and husband Jeremy (Niceville, FL), Ty Walters and wife Brooke (Midland, TX), Reverend David Dickenson and wife Lauren (Neodesha, KS), Tara Hillman and husband Sam (Midland, TX). She is also survived by great grandchildren Ryan, Audrey and Allison Hefner, Quinn and Sloane Walters, Reese and Wren Hillman and Emet and Nora Dickenson.

The family would like to thank her caregivers and staff at Sodalis of Garden Ridge for all the self-sacrificing work you do every day. May God bless you for the love and attention you showed our mom during her stay there and in her final days. We will cherish the memories made with her friends there as well.

A private family service will be held.
