While surrounded by family, Tabatha Marie (Meyers) Sipho transitioned to her new life on 17 Aug 19 at 702pm at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital Hospice Wing. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2015 and re-diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer in December 2018. She fought this disease until the very end. While in the healing process after her first diagnosis, Tabatha started volunteering at an Endangered Bird Rescue and came to love the birds at the rescue very much. So much she adopted two of the rescues, Cricket and Benny Blu, and loved to watch and talk to them on the home cameras from her hospital bed. Tabatha uses feathers donated from the rescue when making her smudge fans. Tabatha was in the planning stages of opening a Holistic Center, which would include a rescue center for Birds, dogs and possibly horses. As she understood how much being around animals helped her to heal and she wanted to be able to help others heal in the same way. It would also give some of the Healers and Readers in the area a place to bring their clientele in order to give massages, perform Reiki and to also give readings of all kinds. This is still an ongoing process with her parents at the helm now.
Tabatha is survived by her Dad and Mom, Robert and Jerri (Hibbs) Dexter of Universal City, TX and her sister Mercedes Dexter of Marysville, CA. She is also survived by her step daughters Daysha and Marley Sipho both from the Kansas City area. Tabatha is also survived by her fur babies – Izzy, Goku and Royal and feather babies Cricket and Benny Blu. She is also survived by a multitude of Sorority sisters from the Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority Inc. The Sorority is in the process of establishing a sponsorship program in Tabatha’s name to Support Sisters that are initiated as Solo Sisters – in order for other Sisters to travel to give the new sister a warm reception upon joining the organization.
Tabatha is preceded in death by her Fraternal Grandparents Delbert G. and Freda (Yates) Dexter. Maternal Grandparents Robert (Pinky) Hibbs and Thurman and Katie (Workman) Yohnka. She is also preceded in death by her One Winged Wonder, Sampson and three family dogs, Kinje, Dakota and Jax.
