SSG. Merle D. Pendley, US Army (Ret.), age 80 of Marion, TX, passed away on October 31, 2011. Merle is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Pendley; his parents, Martin and Mary Pendley; daughters, Jolonda Pendley, Charlotte Trounter and his son, Larry Pendley. He is survived by his sons, Ronald K. Pendley of Omaha, NE, Ricky Pendley of El Paso, TX and Merle Daril Pendley, Jr. of Marion, TX; brother, Herbert Pendley of Cedar Park, TX; sister, Doris Ingle of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren, Salina Perkins of Converse, TX, Jolonda Lewis of El Paso, TX, Daniel Galicia of El Paso, TX, Merle Daril Pendley III of Keller, TX, Donny Galicia of Ruidoso, NM, Eric Galicia of El Paso, TX, Dustin Pendley of Omaha, NE and great-grandchildren, Delon Pendley of Converse, TX, Daylen, Kaleigha and Kesston Pendley of Keller, TX, Jazmyne Perkins of Converse, TX, Brittney and Starlin Lewis of El Paso, TX, Donny Jr. and Conner Galicia of Ruidoso, NM, Abel Galicia of El Paso, TX and Kenzie, Elijah and Benny Pendley of Omaha, NE. Merle was a Soldier in the US Army. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ronald Pendley officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at 11:45 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
