SMSgt Daryl R. Hanley II, United States Air Force (Ret), born on May 23, 1958, passed away on January 17, 2013, at the age of 54. During his career, he served 26 years in the United States Air Force before retiring and moving on to a job in civil service. Daryl was a man who loved his family as much as they loved him. He met many people through his travels and had a positive impact in lives of everyone he touched. He married Katherine Pichelmann on September 28, 1979. Survivors include his wife and two sons, Daryl Hanley III and Raymond Hanley; four grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Michael Hanley; sisters, Cathy Hanley-Martin, Mary Ault and Patty Hanley. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Schertz Funeral Home, from 3:00PM to 5:00PM, with a Memorial Service to begin at 4:00PM. Interment will be on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, at 9:00AM, with United States Air Force Honors. In Lieu of flowers family requested donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project 12672 Silicon Drive, Suite 105 San Antonio, TX 78249.
