SMSgt. Gary R. Gartz (73) passed away at Silver Tree Nursing home on 9/26/10 after a three year fight with cancer. He lived in Schertz, Texas with his loving wife, Benita. Visitation will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Thursday, 9/30/10 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a Rosary to be Recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Chapel 1 on Randolph Air Force Base on Friday, 10/1/10 at 2:00 PM, with Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In addition to Benita, Gary is survived by his daughter, Annette Bouressa and her husband, Dennis; their children, Michael Carrington, his wife, Christina, son, Alex; Danielle Bouressa and her husband, Justin Wilks; Garys son, Randy and his wife, Kathryn; their son, Taylor Gartz and his wife, Jen and son, Noah; Faryn Carr, her husband, Billy and son, Jackson; Nicole Thompson and her husband, Jay and their son, Jax. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Henrietta, infant brother, sister Dorothy, brother Leo, brother William. Surviving sisters, Muriel Hankes; Leuta Talley, Maxine McVey Whitty and sister-in-law Dolly. If you are planning on attending the Funeral Service at Randolph, please write down your name and driver's license number on the sign up sheet that will be available at the Prayer Vigil Service on Thursday evening at Schertz Funeral Home. If you will not be attending the Prayer Vigil Service, you may call the Funeral Home so that they may add your name to the list.
