Shirley Johnson

August 17, 1937 — June 25, 2012

Shirley J. Johnson, born on August 17, 1937, passed away on June 25, 2012, at the age of 74. Shirley was a longtime member of the Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church in Paducah, Kentucky. Her parents, Herrin and Amanda Cooper, and her brother, Kenneth Cooper, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James H Johnson of Seguin, TX; children, Steve (Judy) James of San Antonio, TX, Greg (Cheryl) Johnson of Seguin, TX, Kim (Rickey) Travelstead of Burna, KY and Dana (Marty) Smith of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Chris (Sarah) Travelstead of Brookport, IL, Ashley (Justin) Patton of Tiline, KY, Jackie (Rodney) Silva, Jeremy (Angie) James, Blake Smith and Lauren Smith, all of San Antonio, TX; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Terry Cooper of Atlanta, GA; sister, Sue Phillips of Peoria, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schertz Funeral Home. The Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Shirleys name to the Alzheimers Association, 4687 North Mesa Street, Ste. 200 El Paso, Texas 79912.
