Shirley Ann Hamm

Shirley Ann Hamm(Bailey) was born to William C. Bailey Sr. and Gladys E. Bailey(Parker) on 12Feb1948 in San Antonio, Texas. She passed peacefully, after many friends and family had visited her on 25Jan2025 at her home in Schertz, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, and her husband of nearly 54yrs Michael T. Hamm Sr. She is survived by 3 children, Michael Travis Hamm Jr., (Isabel Hamm, wife), Candace Elaine Logan and Elizabeth Clara Baker. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many cousins, dozens of nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. 

Shirley and Michael were high school sweethearts where they graduated together in 1967 and later married in 1969. They moved to Schertz, Tx. in August 1978 where they rented a home on Judith Ann Dr. until they bought their forever home together in 1987 on Marilyn Dr. Shirley also began working for the City Of Schertz in 1987 at Schertz City Hall, and retired in 2010 from Schertz Public Works Dpt., after 23yrs of service. Shirley and Michael made many trips all over Texas throughout their lives, including many fishing trips to Rockport. Shirley was not born into fishing, but she did come to enjoy many trips to the gulf coast and pulled her share of fish from its waters. Shirley is a treasure that will be missed by many for years to come. 

In Lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made via check to Hopewell Cemetary, care of Kenneth Henderson, 3945 CR 3115 N, Clarksville, TX 75426, to continue the upkeep and maintenance of the cemetery in Shirley's honor. If unable to pay by check you can Venmo @isabelh70, where a check will then be mailed with donations received. Hopewell Cemetary is only maintained by local residents of Clarksville, TX. 

The Visitation will be held on what would have been her 77th birthday, at Schertz Funeral Home on Wednesday 12Feb2025 from 5-8pm. There will be a Chaplain led service planned at 7:00 PM, followed by Mike Jr. telling Shirley's story about her final day with us. The Graveside Service will be held at Hopewell Cemetery (1718 County Road 3117, Clarkesville, TX 75426) on Sunday, 23Feb2025 at 2:00pm.
