Shirley Desso
December 21, 1932 — March 3, 2010
Shirley Ann Desso passed into the gates of heaven on March 3, 2010. Shirley was born on December 21, 1932. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Donald Desso and her oldest son, Donald Desso. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Desso, her sons, Scott Desso and his wife Darlene, Terry Desso and Joe Desso and his wife Cathy. Shirley was also a loving and caring grandmother, known as Bubba to her six grandchildren; Ryan, Jordan, Danielle, Taylor, Madeline & Gaby. As an air force wife, Shirley raised her family in Germany and in various air force bases across the United States, but primarily in Texas. Although born in Madera, Pennsylvania, Shirley was a Texan , living on Randolph AFB and in Schertz , Texas for the last 40 years. Shirley was a homemaker and she had also worked at the Randolph NCO club for over twenty five years. She loved living in Schertz and thought it was the best little town in the world. Shirley was an active parishioner of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Her church and her faith were a major part of her life. She loved working in the yard, visiting with friends and neighbors and keeping tabs on her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing a game called Chicken Foot, as well as going to dinner & movies with her girlfriends. Shirley was a very special woman and a great mother. Her compassion, support and love of her family and friends were evident every day of her life. Everybody that came into contact with her would say that she always gave more than she received. She will be missed by all that knew her. There is now another angel in heaven looking down from above on all of us. God bless you mom. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Schertz Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Schertz, Texas. A private family interment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
