Shirley Demory

December 24, 1923 — January 19, 2014

Shirley was born December 24, 1923 in Santa Barbara, California. She spent her youth pursuing her love of Dancing and singing where she performed in such events as the Fiesta in Santa Barbara and the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena . While attending Santa Barbara City College, she met and married Richard Seldon Demory. Shortly after they married, Richard joined the Army and she spent the next 28 years embracing the life of an Army wife. They had four children: Ann Covington, Amanda Johnson, Stephen Demory and Patricia Demory, seven Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. After Richard retired, they settled in Carlsbad, California where she embarked on a long career in Real Estate. Over the years she achieved many awards for her exemplary participation in the California Board of Realtors. She was most proud of her participation in The Carlsbad Women's Club. The Women's Club performed musical shows for the community. She loved performing and contributed much time and energy to the organization. She will be remembered for her optimism and unwavering loyalty.
