In Loving memory Sherilyn Ann Beckmann 75, of Spring Branch, Tx who was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on September 16, 2024. Born in Marion, Tx on October 6,1948, to Herman and Melanie Zamzow. Sherilyn radiated love and kindness throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Beckmann and her loving brother, Gordon Zamzow. She will be deeply missed by her son, Brian Beckmann and daughter-in-law, Heather Beckmann, her daughter, Michelle Templeton and son-in-law Ty Templeton; and seven beloved grandchildren Gunner Beckmann, Blake Beckmann, Ken Neal, Kori Neal, Hunter Neal, Rylee Templeton, and Reece Templeton.
Sherilyn graduated from Marion High School and had a career spanning 40+ years as a secretary for Texas Testing Laboratories, McGruder Trucking, and for the Bexar County Justice of Peace, Precinct 3. Our hearts are heavy, but they are filled with deep gratitude for the beautiful life she lived, and the love she gave to everyone around her. Sherilyn was a hard worker, beacon of warmth, kindness, patience, joy, and had an unwavering devotion to others. Her thoughtfulness reached the lives of many. She was a constant source of light and encouragement. She had a way of making everyone feel loved, always ready to laugh, offering a listening ear with sound advice, or a helping hand if you were in need.
Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of so many. In addition to her devotion to her family, Sherilyn loved to cook and bake. She loved nothing more than gathering loved ones around a table filled with delicious homemade meals, prepared with love. Her kitchen was filled with the aromas of her favorite recipes and family "classics" that we'll continue to cherish. She took joy in feeding the people she loved and cared for.
One of the greatest gifts she gave to all of us was her unwavering faith. Her love for the Lord was steadfast, a guiding light through every season of her life. She lived her faith quietly but powerfully, always choosing love, kindness, and humility. She passed on her love for God to her children and now grandchildren. Her relationship with God was evident in every act of service, every word of encouragement, and every gesture of kindness. She found immense joy in seeing and making others happy.
As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the incredible woman she was to so many. She was the heart of our family, the one we all turned to in times of need, the one who could make any situation better simply by her being present, and the "glue" that held us all together.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, joy, and faith that will continue to guide us as we move forward without her physical presence. Though words cannot fully capture the loss we feel, we find comfort in knowing the love she had for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as the tremendous impact she made on everyone she encountered.
A Celebration of Sherilyn Beckmann's remarkable life will be held from 10:00-11:00am for visitation/viewing and 11:00am Service, both on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Redeemer United Church. Graveside service immediately following the Celebration of Life at Redeemer United Church Cemetery. The family requests flowers to be sent to Schertz Funeral Home (Schertz, Tx) in honor of her lifelong dedication to serving others.
We will forever Miss you, Momma. Your love, your light, and your legacy will live on in all of us. Rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
