Shelby Lucky

May 9, 1941 — October 7, 2009

MSgt. Shelby D. Lucky, U.S. Air Force, Retired, age 68, passed away on October 7, 2009. Shelby proudly served his country for 22 years in the U.S. Air Force while working in many areas of aviation. During his years of service he was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses, ten Air Medals along with the RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm. Following Air Force retirement Shelby taught the SAAB 340, SAAB 2000 and Metro 227 for several years at Flight Safety International. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul D. Lucky & Idona Crittenden. He is survived by his loving wife, Delores Jean Lucky; son, Shannon Lucky; sister, Sandra Farris & husband, Hilton; nieces, India Anglin & Cynthia Gomel and beloved K-9 companions, Lola, Bridget & Pookie. Visitation will be held from 5-9 PM on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
