Sharon Potts

Sharon “Sue” Potts, age 73, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019, at Northeast Baptist Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. Potts was born in Montgomery, Al to the late Samuel Childress and Jonia Kerns Childress on October 12, 1946. Mrs. Potts was retired as a GS-12 from MedCom Finance and Accounting at Fort Sam Houston and received multiple excellence awards during her 25 years working in Civil Service throughout the United States and Germany.  Sue loved being outside, traveling, cruising, dancing, spending time with her family, and attending church with her husband. She was an outgoing and vivacious soul who cared deeply for animals including her two rescue dogs, Bear and Missy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Potts was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Potts.  She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert W. Potts, Sr.; son, Robert W. Potts, Jr. and his wife, Wendi Potts; three grandchildren: Lucas Potts and his wife, Megan Potts, Donavon Potts and his fiancé, Marissa Roman, and Sarah Potts; and sister, Judy Stamper and her husband, Keith Stamper of North Carolina.

Visitation will be at Schertz Funeral Home and Crematory from 4-8 p.m., with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec 5, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
