Seth Miller Brown, 31, United States Army Specialist (SPC), was born November 13, 1983, in Longview, TX. Seth went to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the afternoon of May 12, 2015, in San Antonio, TX. Seth will always be remembered for his kind and generous heart. He loved his friends and family dearly. He was extremely loyal. Seth attended school in Longview, TX, graduating from Springhill High School in 2003. In high school, he will always be remembered as the tough #8 on the Panther Football Team. After high school, Seth worked several jobs and then went on to join the U.S. Army at the age of 20. Seth was stationed in both Iraq and Afghanistan, incurring injuries to his body, his mind, and his heart as the result of his endeavors to serve his country. Seth struggled greatly with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In an effort to achieve healing, Seth became a part of the Wounded Warrior Transition Unit in San Antonio in 2014. He remained a part of this unit until his honorable discharge from the military in April of this year. He loved spending time with his precious wife, Sandra, who was very dedicated to helping Seth through his times of great distress. Seth loved to bass fish and play games on his phone. He loved playing with his dogs Sammie and Maggie, who brought him both joy and comfort. He was planning to take some college classes in the near future. Seth is survived by his wife, Sandra Brown. Seth is also survived by his two year old son, Jax. He was looking forward with great anticipation to the birth of his daughter, Amia Elizabeth, due late July. Seth is also survived by his father and stepmother Dan and Kathy Brown of Longview, TX, his mother and stepfather USAF Lt. Col. Kevin and Missy (Morgan) Drake of New Braunfels, TX. His surviving grandparents include Lois Wilson of Longview, TX, and Carol (Bucky) Smith of New Braunfels, TX., US Army Sgt. First Class George and Sarah Drake, of Scottsboro, AL. Seth was cherished by his brother and sister-in-law Chad and Kim Brown of New Braunfels, TX, his sister and brother-in-law Brittany and US Army Corporal Clay Peek of Ft. Polk, LA, and his sister and brother-in-law Shelby and Austin Ohlenbusch of New Braunfels, TX. Seth's nieces and nephews include Chloe, Charlie, Carter, and James. His stepsisters and their families include Anne and Brian Herman, Braden and Jake of Longview, TX, and April and Adam Anderson and Aiden of Pritchett, TX. Also left to cherish Seth's memory are members of Sandra's family, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be honored by a full military service at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at 11:15 a.m., Friday May 22, 2015. In lieu of flowers we ask that you send a contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project so that other vets who so suffer may receive help that they so badly need.
