Scott J. Carlin was born in Port Arthur, Texas on December 13, 1961 and passed away in Schertz, Texas on December 8, 2014. To each of us who were honored to know Scott, even if just for a moment, he gave us all a special piece of his heart that will always remain in ours. One of God's gentle and loving souls that radiated compassion and generosity at every opportunity, and mostly in acts unseen. He was a true instrument of God's hands. Those of us who remain are forever changed by Scott's guidance, care, joyfulness, ingenuity, resourcefulness, artistic talent and most of all, love. His life is an example of God's love for humanity and the essence of our purpose on earthto love one another as God loves us. Just as Scott mastered all things in life that he attempted, he also mastered a life well-lived with purpose for our Creator. His master said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.' Matthew 25:23 Survived by his loving wife Margaret Carlin; parents Wayne and Sandra Carlin; sister Cristi Tidwell (Tyson); father-in-law Ted Trevino; mother-in-law Frances Trevino; brother-in-law Teddy Trevino (Deborah); sister-in-law Missy Hill (David); brother-in-law Marty Trevino (Monica); nephews and nieces Brandon, Lexy, Ashlyn, Megan, Beau, Justin, Zachary, Sarah, Daetren, Marty, Devon, Jocelyn, and Maddie Visitation will be at 10:00AM on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Schertz Funeral Home, with a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00AM with Pastor Dan Williams officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
