Sari Norred

To those who loved her:

Sari Helen Norred (Hutchinson), of San Antonio, departed this earth on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the age of 71, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born on March 19, 1948, to Dave and Sadie Byrt Hutchinson of Del Rio, TX, and was the third of four children born to the union.

She graduated from Del Rio High School and briefly attended York College in York, Nebraska, before returning home and marrying Larry Norred on April 7, 1967.

Sari never laughed more than when she would get together with her sister and a small group of female cousins. She was a lifelong member of the church of Christ and a longtime member of the MacArthur Park congregation. She was an avid reader who loved to learn, and in 1993, she earned her B.N.

Sari is survived by three children: David Norred (Maria) of San Antonio, Cynthia (Dan) Lazar of San Antonio, and Laura (Fred) Neuhold of Lamar, CO; seven grandchildren: Toni (Ryan) Wiley of San Antonio, Emma Lazar of San Antonio, Freddy, Larry, and Sari Neuhold of Lamar, CO, and Victoria and Kathleen Norred of San Antonio; and one great-grandchild, Quinn Wiley; two brothers: Warren Lee Hutchinson (Shirley) of San Antonio, and Charles Wade Hutchinson of Del Rio, and by a sister, Linda (Joe) Neuhold of Lamar, CO, and Aunt Gene Carter of Del Rio, as well as numerous cousins and other loved ones.

Sari is preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry Norred, and her parents.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Graveside Services are being held privately at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in San Antonio. Thank you for understanding.  In place of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Cherokee Children’s Home at chc4kids.org
