Ruth Close

Ruth B. Close, 85, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Born in Boquete, Province of Chiriquí, Republic of Panama, she graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Ruth was born on 7 February, 1931 to Amado Boutet and Blanca Boutet. She was married to the love of her life, Albert Byron Close on 21 May, 1954. They had five children; Alan, Vivian, Ella, David, and Ruth. In addition she had ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Ruth enjoyed a successful career in teaching and retired in 1991. The job she loved and treasured most in life was that of being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her life was family and she had a heart and a faith in God bigger than the state of Texas. Throughout those years she devoted herself to family and friends. Nothing more brought her the joy that came from spending time with family. There are many stories from family events that will keep her memory alive in our hearts. She was like a little doll but, if the measure of a women is a big heart, faith, selflessness, compassion, and love, she was definitely a giant. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at Schertz Funeral Home.
