Russell Rowell

August 13, 1942 — January 17, 2014

Russell R. (Bob) Rowell passed away on January 17, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born on August 13, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Russell G. and Helen Schertz Rowell. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law Marion Muennink and sister-in-law Dorothy Beard. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and adored being with his grandchildren and family. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Kathryn Muennink Rowell, daughter Kristi Clendennen and husband Scott, and their three children Kirsten, Kalli, and Caleb. Other survivors are his brother Fred Rowell and wife May, uncle Walter Schertz and wife Lula Mae, mother-In-law Irene Muennink, sisters-in-law Marianne Sandidge and husband Buddy, Rita Mechler and husband Lindy, brother-in-law Ken Beard, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, from 6:00PM-8:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 10:00AM, at Schertz Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section, Hondo, Texas. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the New Fountain United Methodist Church, 2980 FM2676, Hondo, Texas, 78861-6069.
