Rose Marie Slightom

Rose Marie Slightom passed away September 13, 2023 at the age of 86. Rose Marie was born on January 19, 1937 to Victor and Cecilia (Palomera) Lopez in San Antonio, Texas. Rose Marie was a devoted wife, caring mother and a loving grandmother and great grandmother.

Rose Marie attended Providence High School in San Antonio. After high school graduation, Rose Marie moved to Austin to attend Seton School of Nursing. She was valedictorian of her graduating class in 1958. She worked as a registered nurse most of her life and dedicated 30 years of service to the Nix Hospital in San Antonio.

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Slightom, and her parents. Survivors include her children, Elizabeth Coddington (Ray), Karen Ruiz (Joe), Camille Peterson (Michael) and Elena Ticer (Parrish); grandchildren, Clare King (Roy), Annie King (Sam), Vanessa Meyer (Herman), Mitchell Peterson (Sarah), Nicholas Ruiz, Ryan Coddington, Brody Ticer and Garrett Ticer; and great grandchildren, Grayson, Dillon, Chase, Harper and Quinn Meyer, and Matthew and Zachary Peterson, and Colin and Reese King.

A Rosary will be recited at 1:15 PM and Funeral Mass will follow at 1:30 PM on Monday, September 25, 2023 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
