Ronnie E. Lockhart, 59, answered the Lords call on Sunday, September 8, 2013 in his residence surrounded by family and friends. He was a native of Gaffney, South Carolina, born September 17, 1953 to the late Theodore Alexander Lockhart, Sr. and Mary Gill Lockhart. He joined the United States Army, March 29, 1978 and served for 20 years before he retired on March 31, 1998. During this time Ronnie served in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. He completed two tours in Germany and two tours in Korea, and other locations within the United States. He also received several awards during his service; which included; Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4th award), Army Achievement Medal (6th award), Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Star, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th award), Kuwait Liberation Medal, Driver and Mechanic Badge with Mechanic Bar. He began his walk with God in The Divine True Holiness Church of God, Blacksburg, South Carolina. After his retirement he moved to San Antonio, Texas, he later joined the Word Christianity Ministry and was ordained as a Deacon and then licensed as a Gospel Minister. During his last six years he joined Resurrection Baptist Church where he faithfully served in the Media ministry and also an Evangelism Process graduate. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; Theodore Alexander Lockhart, Sr. and Mary Gill Lockhart, and four of his siblings; Excel Lockhart, Carolyn Lockhart, Deanna Sizemore, Louis Lockhart. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and Wife, Debra Morrow Lockhart; 2 Sons, Shawn Smith of Spartenburg, SC and Seltzer Lockhart of Polkton, NC; 2 Daughters, Sarata Lockhart Green and Saquayla Lockhart; 1 Son-in-Law, Travis Green; 4 Grandchildren; Hezekiah Green, Phantajia Smith of Gaffney, SC, Demetrius Smith and Shawn Smith, Jr., of Lincoln, CA; a Mother-in-Law; Selma Morrow of Charlotte, NC . His loving siblings; Charles Lockhart (Barbara) of Charlotte, NC, William Lockhart (Betty of Blacksburg, SC, Esther Whitner (Luther) of Kings Mountain, NC, Elder Margaret Hames (Willie) of Charlotte, NC , Bishop Eddie Lockhart (Erma) of Grover, NC, Barbara A. Roberts (Belton) of Kings Mountain, NC, Pastor Theodore Lockhart, Jr. (Alzenia) of Blacksburg, SC, Benjamin Lockhart (Henrean) of Kings Mountain, NC, Mary Lockhart of Grover, NC, Leatha Lockhart of Grover, NC, Priscilla Hollis-Lockhart (widower of Louis) of Gaffney, SC, Melvin Sizemore (widower of Deanna); 8 Sister-in-Laws and 1 Brother-in-Law; and a host of Nieces, nephews, several God Children and God Grandchildren, and many Friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home chapel. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am, Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Resurrection Baptist Church in Schertz, TX, with an interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
