Ronnie Inmon
February 18, 1940 — January 16, 2011
Ronnie Payton Inmon, age 70 of Schertz, Texas, passed away and went to be with the Lord on Sunday January 16, 2011. He was born on February 18, 1940 in Kosse, Texas and graduated from Kosse High School in 1958. Ronnie joined the United States Air Force, where he primarily worked in the field of aircraft maintenance, and retired with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant after 26 years of honorable service. His service included tours in Vietnam and Korea and he met his wife while stationed at Bentwaters AFB in England. Inmon received numerous honors and citations during his long and distinguished Air Force career and his last duty station was Randolph AFB, where he retired in 1985. Following his retirement, he worked at Lear Siegler and also owned and operated two small businesses, including a laundromat and car wash in Schertz. Inmon also enjoyed serving as a bus driver for the SCUC-ISD for 15 years. Ronnie was an honest and decent man who served his family and country with quiet strength and commitment. Prior to his death, he accepted Jesus as his savior and confirmed his faith in God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Payton and Vennie Inmon, and brother, Justin Jay Inmon. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 45 years, Rita Ann Inmon, and two sons, Keith Andrew Inmon and Gary Wayne Inmon, both from Schertz, Texas, their wives, Rebekah Inmon and Crissy Inmon, and six grandchildren, Devynn, Hayden, Parker and Thomas Inmon and Mark and Hanna Morgan. He is also survived by his brother, Ollie Inmon, sister, Jimmie Tillmon, and sister-in-law, Jean Inmon and other loving and supportive family members. The family will hold visitation from 6:30-8:00 pm on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held from 8:00-9:00 am on Friday, January 21, 2011, with internment services held at the Ft. Sam Houston National Military Cemetery at 9:30 am immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers or other memorials, the family respectively asks that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
