Ronald was an avid race car driver and fan. He started this love by helping kids race at the Lone Star Quarter Midget Association in San Antonio and the River City Quarter Midget Association in Austin. He began his true racing career by driving dwarf cars. In 1996, he was awarded Rookie of the Year by the Texas Dwarf Car Association. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR. He religiously watched most Sprint Cup races each weekend with his favorite driver being Terry LaBonte. In his spare time, Ronald loved to throw darts, go bowling, fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He was an excellent dartsman, winning many awards in local dart leagues and tournaments. Many times, he was awarded Top Shooter in these leagues. When fishing, he enjoyed going to Alaska and the Texas Coast. He also loved restoring old cars. He had several cars and trucks that he was working on. He enjoyed going to Car shows and Swap meets, selling parts and collecting car parts. His favorite car show was the Rat Rod Rally held in Austin. Throughout his work life, Ronald was quite the salesman. He started his salesman career with Terminix International where he received many sales awards. He continued his Sales success when he moved to Alamo Tees and Advertising, where he has been working for the last 15 years.
