Ronald moved to Union City, MI with his family in 1955 when his parents purchased the Union City Register-Tribune. Ron was an excellent student. He also pitched and played first base in Pony League baseball. He was on the high school basketball and track teams. He was a Cub Scout and later, a Boy Scout. He earned numerous merit badges and reached the rank of Eagle Scout, a very high honor. Ron was also very artistic and spent much of his day drawing on his sketch pad. Ron was a member of First Congregational Church in Union City, Mi. He accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at about age 13. At age 16 he was diagnosed with a mental illness with which he struggled for the rest of his life. We praise God that he accepted Christ before he was stricken with this illness and that he is safe in the arms of Jesus, free from the disease that gripped him in this earthly life.
