Ronald Gehring

May 30, 1935 — November 24, 2018

Ronald Gehring, 83, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 in Cibolo, Texas. He is survived by his wife Jutta Gehring, his two sons Raymond Gehring of Costa Mesa, CA and Richard Gehring and his wife Allene of Selma, TX. He has two granddaughters, Katie Gehring and Madison Tullis and her husband Rusty and two great grand children as well as many friends. Ronald served in the United States Army for 23 years which included a tour in Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star Medal. Over the years he was stationed in Germany, France and California and eventually he retired in San Antonio at Fort Sam Houston. Ronald's hobbies included restoring old cars and attending car shows with his son Richard. He also loved reading history books and keeping up with politics. Ronald enjoyed football, hockey and soccer. Most importantly, Ronald was a family man who was married to his wife for 58 years. They loved to travel and made many trips to Berlin, Germany to spend time with the family there.
A Memorial Service will be performed by Ryan Azzaro at the Schertz Funeral Home on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:30 AM with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors.
