Ronald Duffy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on 12/20/2024. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Camden, he lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love.

He is survived by his wife, four children and seven grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. A proud patriot, Ronald joined the military right out of high school, serving with distinction in the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Shield. His commitment to his country continued through his service in both the Army Reserve and the Air Force.

After his military career, Ronald dedicated himself to public safety, and retired from Rowan University as a state fire official in the public safety department. His sense of duty extended to his volunteer work at BAMC, where he ensured the safety of others by checking fire extinguishers and emergency equipment.

He enjoyed coaching recreational basketball and was a constant supporter at his children’s swim meets. He loved camping in the Poconos and the Jersey shore. An active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, he was a fourth-degree Knight of Columbus, exemplifying his strong faith and commitment to his church community.

In his later years, Ronald found joy in word searches, senior Bingo, and cherished times with friends at the Schertz Senior Center. His presence and contributions to the community will be deeply missed.

Ronald leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by all who knew him.

There will be a visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Thursday, January 23, 2025 beginning at 10 am. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:30 am, with the funeral mass to follow at 11:00 am. A reception will be held in the community room following the funeral mass.

Ronald will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery later that day, with the graveside service beginning at 2:15 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Threads of Love San Antonio Chapter on their website.
