Roger Bowden

February 3, 1948 — March 5, 2011

Roger Patrick Bowden, 63, of San Antonio, TX went to be with his Lord and savior on March 5, 2011. Roger passed away with his family by his side after a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was born on February 3, 1948 in Houston, TX to J. Edgar and Mildred Patricia Bowden. He was raised in San Antonio and graduated Central Catholic High School in 1966. Roger was an excellent basketball player and a member of the team that won state 3 years in a row. He attended University of New Mexico on a basketball scholarship where he met the love of his life, Barbra. They were married after graduation in 1970. He attended University of Houston where he received his law degree. Roger worked as an oil and gas attorney for many years, and established Oak Rock Exploration Company. Roger is survived by his loving wife Barbra, his daughter Jessica Bowden, eldest daughter and her husband Kristen and Andy Meyers, four sisters Pat Kuhnel, Susie Bonilla, Nancy Fernandez, and Kathy Komissarov and their families, his two closest high school friends Harry Relkin and Mike Schuback. He will best be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and friend. Roger had a great sense of humor and was an incredibly loyal friend. Everyone who knew Roger loved him. The memorial service will be held at Schertz Funeral Home 2217 F.M. 3009 Schertz, TX 78154 VIEWING MARCH 8, 2011, 5:00 PM UNTIL 9:00 PM MEMORIAL SERVICE MARCH 9, 2011 AT 1:00 PM Burial will follow at Hill Country Memorial Gardens. Reception immediately after at Freedom Fellowship Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of Roger Bowden to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org or the missions fund at Freedom Fellowship Church.
