Roger Bass

October 26, 1924 — June 8, 2009

Roger Stuart Bass, loving husband, devoted father, and caring grandfather, joined the angels on 8 June 2009, surrounded by his family at home in Schertz. Born in Saint Paul, MN on 26 October, 1924, he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a graduate of the Chicago Academy of Arts in Illinois. He was a Commercial Artist, following in the footsteps of his brother, Vaughn. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Victoria Ann; his sons, Roger Jr and wife Candace, and Jeffery Allan and wife Lisa; and daughter, Cynthia Louise. He is also survived by his three grandchildren Robert, Catherine, and Jeffery. A man of remarkable inner strength, moral courage, and personal integrity, he is beloved for his gentle wisdom and caring devotion. While he will be sorely missed, his love and compassion continues in the lives of all he touched. Internment will be at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Friday, 12 June at 0945.
