Bob Sweeney, 86, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home on January 19, 2023. Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Bernice and Robert Sweeney Sr., Bob was a salesman and retired from the U.S. Army National Guard as an SFC after 20 years of service.
Bob was an avid woodworker, traveler, casino card player, TV series watcher, and football fan. He was also a dedicated father who took an active role in coaching his children's baseball, basketball, and bowling teams. Bob's quick wit and funny anecdotes will be remembered by all who knew him.
Bob is predeceased by his son Robert "Bobby" Sweeney, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Rachael Adkins Sweeney, and children Ronald Sweeney, Shaun and Kelly Sweeney, Kerri Janowick, Sarah Sweeney and Hector Pachon, and Megan Riggins. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nikki Sweeney, Eric Sweeney, Kyle Sweeney, Gabrielle Rose Sweeney, and Sebastian Pachon.
Bob will be remembered and rendered Military Honors at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on February 10, 2023 at 2:45 pm at Pavilion 5 with Pastor Wil Deal of Crosspoint Fellowship Church presiding.
