Richard Ronald Whyman, born February 9, 1968 in Evanston, IL, and died November 8, 2021 in Schertz, Texas. After growing up in suburban Chicago, Richard attended schools in Michigan and Illinois before beginning a successful career in technology. Richard married Ramona Provenzano and together they brought his two greatest accomplishments to the world, sons Nicholas and Chris. While the marriage ended, its result was a source of his pride and joy.
Rich relocated to the San Antonio, Texas area around 2008 and enjoyed time with many friends in the community, most connected to the Alamo HOG (Harley Owners Group), which care for him deeply and provide the family comfort and assistance during this time. He enjoyed day rides, overnight trips and many social gatherings with this group and his beloved bike Lola. Rich also enjoyed connecting with more distant family from his father’s lineage, connecting with cousins as far as England.
Rich is survived by his children, Chris (Jesse) Whyman and Nicholas Whyman; parents, Deanna and James Jakubik; brother, John (Emily) Whyman; nieces, Lucille and Maggie Whyman, and many cousins, aunts & uncles from 3 families. He was preceded in death by father, Ronald Whyman; grandparents, Marvin & Roberta Whyman and Walter and Lucille Olson.
Memorial will be held Monday, November 15, 2021 in the form of a visitation from 4pm to 6pm followed by a celebration of life service commencing at 6pm at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, TX 78154.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to JDRF (JDRF.ORG), or to a charity of your choice to benefit veterans, who were among his best friends and whose service he honored and respected deeply.
