Richard Suggs

Richard Eldon Suggs of Marion, Texas, was born July 21, 1937, in Poteet, TX. Death called him home on Saturday, January 6, 2018 in Live Oak, Texas at the age of 80. After graduating from Harlandale High School (San Antonio, TX), Richard began his lifelong occupation as a commercial electrician with IBEW Local Union # 60. He went on to serve 3 years in the Army National Guard then completed his military service by serving 3 years as an A1C in the Air National Guard. Richard practiced his Christianity. He was preceded in death by his father, JB (Daddy JB) Suggs, his parents Mary (Nana) Maddox and Hollis (Pa) McCoy, his infant sister, his brothers-in-law Robert (Bob) Stuart Sr and Les Claybrook. Richard is survived by his wife Lanora Claybrook Suggs, their children Richard Jr. (Ric) and Dawn Suggs, Desiree (Dee Dee) and Joe Korioth and Karen (Karrie) and Joel Watts; grandchildren Joseph Korioth, Kyle Suggs, Katie Korioth, Kelley Suggs, Abby Parrish, Jordan Suggs-Watts, Michelle Watts, Melissa Watts and great granddaughter Hadley Jo Korioth. Surviving also are his sister Vernice Stuart, aunt Helen Upshaw, in-laws Margaret and Stan Claybrook, Dr. Don Claybrook, Elizabeth (Lib) Birmingham, Dorothy (DJ) and Mike Cookman, lifetime friends Peggy and Keith Schulz, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 3:00PM-7:00PM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 10:00AM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at San Fernando No. 3 with Military Honors.
