Richard Murphy

October 25, 1946 — September 30, 2009

SMSgt. Richard D. Murphy (Dan), U.S. Air Force, Retired, age 62, of Universal City, TX passed away September 30, 2009. Dan retired from the Air Force after many years of service as a jet engine mechanic. His passion for art drove him to return to school after his retirement and he earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree from UTSA. He also enjoyed the hobby of collecting model cars. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Irene Murphy. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda S. Murphy; son, Ryan Murphy of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Erin Murphy of Cedar Park, TX; brothers, Dennis Murphy & wife, Lenda of Moore, OK and Derek Murphy & wife, Susan of Bartlesville, OK and many other family members and friends . A Memorial Service was held on October 3, 2009 at Schertz Funeral Home. Interment, with full military honors, will be held on Saturday October 10,2009 at 4:00 PM at the Ball Cemetery in Childers,OK.
