Richard Flores Cardenas passed away on August 18, 2009, in San Antonio Texas. Richard was born on May 4, 1963, to Frank and Aurora Cardenas, in San Antonio. He is survived by his father, Frank Cardenas, Sr.; sisters, Jeannette & husband, Ramiro Campos, Yvonne Rodriguez, Annette & husband, Robert Chaffin, Dela & husband, Jesse Martinez, all of San Antonio, Aurora Vargas and Jacqueline Hougar; brother, Frank & wife, Grace Cardenas of San Antonio and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, his sister, Maria Garay, his brother, Jesse Cardenas, brother-in-law, Joe Rodriquez, and Richards partner, Scott. Richard utilized his spiritual gift of compassion in a variety of ways, especially taking care of Scott during his last year. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 24, 2009 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel in Schertz Texas. In lieu of flowers, Richard requested memorial contributions be made to cancer research or to those less fortunate.
