Reymundo Alvarado
March 31, 1956 — August 19, 2013
Reymundo Alvarado, loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother was called home to our Lord on Monday, August 19, 2013. Rey passed away peacefully at home at the age of 57. He is survived by parents Ramon and Elida C. Alvarado Jr., sister Alma Alicia Castaneda and brother-in-law Rudy Canstaneda, first wife Guadalupe T. Alvarado and his wife of eleven years, Carol Kay Alvarado; his sons Joshua, Justin and Joseph Alvarado and daughters Khristan, Alayna and Savannah Alexander; grandson Ayden Ainsworth; nephew Jacob Aaron Castaneda and niece Erin Nicole Castaneda. Rey was born March 31, 1956 and lived a full life consuming passions that encompassed family, church and community. A devout Catholic, Rey attended Blessed Sacrament School, Central Catholic High School, Trinity University and St. Marys University. Rey served as a Eucharistic minister within Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and was very involved with Blessed Sacrament School, serving as a member and President of the school board when his sons were students at the school. Rey enjoyed spending time with his family and community while coaching little league soccer and baseball. He had a passion for bowling and enjoyed many weekends salt water fishing. Rey was a well-respected paralegal with Gardner Law Firm where he was employed for many years. He was well known for his personal ethics and high standard of quality work. Rey had the ability to listen to anyone and helped to resolve both personal and professional issues. A smile was never far from his face. We treasured the time that the good Lord gave us with Rey and he will forever remain in our thoughts and in our hearts. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 9:00PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00PM on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, Texas.
