RENE MONTFORT, 69, of Converse,TX, entered into rest May 27, 2009 in San Antonio, TX. She was born April 25, 1940 in Cleveland, OH. She served in the U.S.ARMY (WAC) from 9-25-59 to 10-02-61, Army Reserve from 10-17-74 to 7-31-79, U.S.ARMY 08-01-79 to 07-31-98 retiring with the rank of MSGT. She received the Legion of Merit award along with many other awards during her service. Rene is survived by her husband Richard J. Vidugiris, Daughters; Pamela Joy (Danny) McCloskey, Laura (Ted) Chrzanowski and Lynn (Scott) Bletsh. Grandchildren; Mathew McCloskey, Megan McCloskey, Emily Chrzanowski, Jessica Chrzanowski, and 2nd LT. Grant Chrzanowski. Brothers; Samuel and Daniel Montfort. Sisters; Ruth Bugg, Naomi Fluellen, Rosa Lee Martin, Rachel Lee, and Judy Montfort. Rene was predeceased by her son; John R. Vidugiris and sisters; Zipporah Holland, Alberta Coes, and Nora Lee Harris. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Fri. May 29, 2009 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Converse Animal Shelter, 9634 Schaefer Rd. Converse, TX, 78109.
