Raymond Smejkal, born May 28, 1938 in Providence, RI, passed away surrounded by his wife and two children on July 16, 2018 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 80. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Lucille Smejkal. He is survived by his devoted wife Peggy Smejkal, children, Joe Smejkal and wife, Connie, Johna Smejkal; siblings, Bob Smejkal (Leslie); grandchildren, Shayla Smejkal, Briana Smejkal, Christopher Weisbeck, and Alex Smejkal, and Vivian Torres. Raymond served his country faithfully for 28 years active duty and retired as a SMSgt from the US Air Force, and after his retirement he went to work in Civil Services for 15 years. Raymond had many interest and hobbies, such as; boxing, golf, football, online poker and watching the Price Is Right. He also had a special place in his heart for the New England Patriots, The Fighting Irish, and his faithful dog Tinker, but above all he loved spending time with his family. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
