Raymond Albert Hazel - December 14, 1931 - November 4, 2016, 84 years old

Raymond Albert Hazel passed peacefully on November 4, 2016. He was born in New York City, New York to William Lawrence Hazel and Anna Horan. Raymond proudly served 26 years in the United States Air Force before finally retiring in 1975. After retirement, he moved to Del Rio, Texas where he met and married Florence Marie Hilley Russell.

Raymond and Florence spent many of their 36 years of marriage square dancing, traveling around the United States in their RV, and taking care of one another. They loved to spend all their time together and with their combined families.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, William Hazel and Anna Horan, his brother Lawrence Hazel, sister Catherine Kent, and his wife Florence Hazel. He is survived by his brother Albert Pinkham, and his children Patricia (Chuck) Settles, Susan (Dominick) Garza, Michael (Shelly) Hazel, Valerie (Rick) Adachi, Laura Hazel, Elizabeth (Darryn) Cray, Jennifer Vollers and his stepchildren Robert Russell, Deborah Russell and Joseph (Priscilla) Russell, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016, at Schertz Funeral Home from 9:30-11:00AM, with a Rosary being recited at 11:00AM. A Funeral Mass will follow the same day at 1:00PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Del Rio, Texas on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:30AM
